Gilles Huberson, directeur de la cellule spéciale consacrée au Mali et au Sahel, a été nommé au poste d'ambassadeur de France à Bamako, après le rappel avant la fin de sa mission de l'actuel ambassadeur Christian Rouyer (63 ans).

Le Quai d'Orsay parle d'un "mouvement concernant plusieurs postes africains". Plusieurs hauts diplomates chargés des dossiers sahélien ou malien ont déjà changé de fonctions dont le sous-directeur en charge de l’Afrique de l’Ouest, Laurent Bigot, démis de ses fonctions fin février.

D'autres sources font état de l'exaspération d'au moins un ministre français devant le manque de détermination de Christian Rouyer et du retard à faire signer le SOFA (Status of forces agreement, accord sur le statut des forces) avec le gouvernement malien.

Gilles Huberson, sorti de Saint-Cyr en 1983, ayant rejoint la gendarmerie (qu'il a quittée avec le grade de chef d'escadron) et employé par les AE depuis 1999 , avait été nommé le 6 février conseiller des affaires étrangères, à la tête de la nouvelle mission "Mali-Sahel" (MMS). Il coordonnait l’ensemble de l'action dans cette zone, aux plans politique, diplomatique, sécuritaire et de développement.

Comment peut-on signer un "SOFA" (Status of forces agreement) entre deux gouvernements francophones? C'est un mystère que la loi Toubon n'a pas élucidé.

Le commandant UBERSON gilles a été un excellent commandant militaire à l'hotel matignon sous BALLADUR, son créneau d'action étant la sécurité et le renseignement. Il fut ensuite 1er conseillé à OTTAWA,, puis responsable de la cellule sécurité des ambassades et ressortants français à l'étranger, travaillant un temps pour LVHM, il est un passionné de rugby. sa nomination au poste d'ambassadeur au MALI n'est donc pas une surprise pour moi, pour avoir servi sous ses ordres. félicilitations

Gilles HUBERSON a bien servi comme officier de gendarmerie, il a commandé entre autre la compagnie de FONTAINEBLEAU;
je suis actuellement officier de gendarmerie en activité et le connais depuis les classes préparatoires à Saint-Cyr
